The Manufacturing Manager of Radici Plastics USA manages all the activities necessary to ensure the efficiency and the improvement of all areas of manufacturing. Ensuring products produced and direct activities respect quality and planning defined by the company. So approved products are manufactured safely, on-schedule, and within quality standards and cost objectives of Radici Plastics USA.
The Manufacturing Manager will report directly to the Country Manager of the Company and Functionally to the COO of High-Performance Polymers Business Area.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and communicate the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
- Direct manufacturing managers, engineers, senior management members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
- Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
- Provide direction and leadership to production manager and maintenance manager to direct and monitor shift supervisors to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.
- Act as liaison between management/subordinate levels, to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.
- Assist in training, coaching for improved performance and evaluating staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
- Direct major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
- Provide guidance in the area of materials and market knowledge to meet internal and external customer requirements or to provide the company with a competitive or strategic advantage.
- Manage the department in a manner, which meets or exceeds all department goals including revenue, profit, quality, & safety.
- Establish and maintain a work environment, which promotes the career development and growth of each employee.
- Maintain open and effective lines of communication with managers, employees, vendors, suppliers and major customers.
- Keep pace with industry technological advances, as they impact the company and incorporate such advances into the company's strategic plan for improved effectiveness and profits.
- Analyze and approve the annual operating budget for the department.
- Develop a key individual to perform the vital functions of the position during periods of absence.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.) or a related field or related experience.
- 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastics or chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and safety regulations.
- Three or more years in progressive management positions, with a proven ability to lead and motivate people on a 24/5 basis.
- Strong leadership to set goals and be able to hold teams accountable.
- Safety mentality/oriented, able to foster a safety culture, basic OSHA knowledge.
- Computer tech savvy (word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, Teams), ERP systems knowledge, SAP experience a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
