Radici Plastics USA is the American Company of High-Performance Polymers Business Unit, one of the world’s leading producers of engineering plastics and a network of production and sales sites located throughout Europe, North America, South America and Asia. 

 

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of facility equipment and building systems. This role provides direct supervision to maintenance technicians, ensuring machinery operates efficiently and safely while maintaining the overall condition of the facility. The Maintenance Manager monitors and coordinates preventative maintenance programs, installation and startup of new equipment, and ongoing building upkeep to support operational reliability and minimize downtime.

 

The candidate will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and drive KPIs for the maintenance department including time to repair, time between failures, maintenance downtime and preventive maintenance compliance
  • Plan and execute capital projects for equipment upgrades, replacements, and process improvements from concept to commissioning
  • Assist with the maintenance budget and help with cost control while ensuring safe, efficient plant operations
  • Evaluate systems and equipment performance by collaborating with operating departments, identifying problems and requirements to establish maintenance goals, priorities, and action plans
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximize equipment uptime, improve assets reliably and support production goals
  • Plan and issue maintenance work schedules to ensure continuous plant operations and equipment reliability at the same time manage and execute a preventative maintenance program to maximize equipment uptime
  • Oversee daily maintenance activities, lead technicians, ensure safety compliance, provide hands-on troubleshooting support, and inspect completed maintenance work to ensure quality standards are achieved
  • Supervise maintenance technicians, including performance management, coaching, and employee development using structured training and feedback
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication related to maintenance activities
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of critical spare parts and ensure parts are purchased and replaced timely
  • Communicate priorities, delays, updates, and completion of work orders to the maintenance team and the operations team
  • Develop and implement standard work practices to improve maintenance efficiency and consistency
  • Investigate maintenance-related incidents, implement corrective actions, conduct meetings and ensure maintenance work is performed safely
  • Analyze downtime and failure data to drive root cause analysis and long-term solutions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and IATF requirements
  • Prepares maintenance information and reports
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; immediately addressing issues and alerting others regarding potential concerns.

Competencies

  • Demonstrates strong leadership and supervisory abilities, ensuring accountability within the team
  • Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, preventative maintenance systems, and equipment installation/startup
  • Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of facility systems and building maintenance
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Knowledge of quality systems and company procedures (including IQMS compliance).

Job Requirements

  • At least 5–7 years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to lead preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting and knowledge of OSHA/OOSHA safety compliance
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional maintenance projects in a fast-paced production setting.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based (Wadsworth, OH) with regular interaction in the production environment
  • Travel up to 10% to customer sites, supplier facilities, and industry events/trade shows
