Process Engineer

Mission and Role

The Process Engineer would be accountable for 

• Enhancing local existing manufacturing capabilities, including introduction of new technology, to develop expertise on processing, product quality and Process control.
• Leading Operational Excellence include designing and implementing production processes, reducing inefficiency, recognizing patterns, collecting data, implementing methodologies, and improving quality output.
• Ensure all processes contribute to the final quality of the product and the efficiency of the production system.

Responsibilities and tasks

1. To be the owner of process establishment, optimization, execution and documentation - To ensure deep understanding of process engineering and manufacturing environments and analyses the system performance and re-adjust system parameters to ensure optimal performance, Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement.
2. Optimize compounding & Mixing/Repack process -  Establish and optimize compounding process in manufacturing to ensure smooth production and to meet global product specification, and global efficiency targets, Trials and stabilisation of new commercial products on commercial production lines, Troubleshooting of issues faced during production on compounding lines and guiding production team around 3 the clock 3 working shift
3. OE - Doing KPI data analysis (such as OEE, downtime, Yield loss, others) working closely with relevant function ( Production, maintenance others) to implement improvement actions. KPI will be added/deleted based on business needs.
4. Developing best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates, quality of output and product reliability
5. Documenting all created processes and updating and maintaining these documents as changes occur
6. Safety Improvement and contributing to safety improvements of plant
7.  Working closely with Production Manager/ Manufacturing Head, Shift Leaders, Operators, to drive improvement, Providing technical support and training to Production team, Collaborate with Quality department to for customers’ claims investigation, Non confirming generation investigation and closing assigned action items
8. Driving process improvement projects as per plant needs and achieve project deliverables
9. Driving assigned improvement projects as per plant needs and business needs and achieve project deliverable
10. Leading without Authority - Influence and guide others toward shared goals without relying on formal power, emphasizing collaboration, expertise, and personal credibility.
11. Continuously Develop and Transfer manufacturing technology know-how and expertise - Transfer manufacturing technology know-how and expertise in all relevant fields and keep them up to date.
12. Keep himself/ herself abreast of latest industry developments and identify developmental needs for self and team to enhance effectiveness

Position Specification

• B-Tech, M.Sc, M.Tech Polymer 
• Diploma in Chemical/Polymer or B.Sc. with CIPET with minimum 3 years work experience as a Process Engineer
• Experience - 5 years. Experience in Compounding Industry (Multiple polymer processing , such as PA6, PA66, PBT, PC, ABS), Excellent technical skills (Process, colour others), Knowledge of process-related standards  ( IATF 16949, ISO 9001)
